DIfficulty of battles

I like the game but… whoever designed the difficulty of battles… should get fired.


Its so imbalanced.

My party is level 6 and fights against 4x sick smilodons, each is level 14 undead, has +22 to attack and 5 attacks.

My experience is just the opposite (I have just started the gray fortress). I assume you play “real-time” combat, right?

I play TBC and its too easy, I have never had a TPK. I assume that TBC is much more efficient (you have much more control over your characters) than on “real time combat”.

If you didn’t play Pathfinder ganes before it will be painful. I play on the core diff now (real-time) and it is too easy for me.

You just need to get better. Playing on core with enlarged monster packs and it’s mostly a breeze so I reduced party size.

It’s difficult, but not impossible. Unfortunately, the battles are sometimes so hard that the only way to win is to do turn-based. Defender’s heart comes to mind.

I’ve played 3.5 ed since it came out in July 2003. This gave me an understanding of how Pathfinder works, and some insights into what kind of characters I needed to roll in order to decimate my enemies.

Or so I thought.

I got to act 2, and stumbled into a location outside of Drezen when these ghosts started casting Blasphemy. I was level 9 at the time. I had instant death effects turned off in my difficulty settings, but I knew I had walked into a death trap. That ghost would of snuffed me out like a bad case of fleas if I had death attacks turned on.

Instead it took him 3 rounds because he had to cast a whole litany of crap before hitting me with abyssal rift and dropping me like a dead weight.

After an expletive fueled rant, I turned the difficulty to story mode and haven’t looked back.

Any news on a patch to fix the Console version of Kingmaker that hasn’t worked since release nearly a year ago?
All queries are being ignored on the console forum so thought I’d post this elsewhere…:clown_face:
